Prior to founding SimpleBooks Corp., Charlene (“Charlie”) Santoro worked for full service accounting firms in the area, including Bailey Schaeffer & Errato, Weinstein & Anastasio, and BlumShapiro. She has over 15 years of accounting experience. While at these firms, Charlie primarily worked with individuals and privately held companies ranging from small to mid-sized and non-profits providing audit, accounting and tax and consulting services in various industries including: manufacturing, distribution, construction, legal and medical, professional services, retail, franchises, real estate and property management.
A Career of Distinction
Charlie has been recognized by her peers, winning several awards and accolades such as Housatonic Community College’s “Distinguished Alumni Award,” New Haven Business Times “Forty Under 40 Award,” and Connecticut Society of CPA’s “Candidates Award.”
In addition to her CPA, Charlie holds an MBA in Finance and a BA in Financial Accounting from the University of New Haven.
Charlie is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, she is on the Finance Committee and Board of Directors for the Bridgeport School Volunteer Association.
